Making a splash with ‘Water Silks’

March 2025

Ahead of the AW25 Fashion Weeks, we created a campaign with Epson to re-imagine the rivers and canals of Europe’s fashion capitals as Eco Silk scarves, to raise awareness of the industry’s water footprint. Epson’s innovative tech, which cuts water usage in the colour printing stage by 97%, was used to print the scarves which were designed by sustainable design duo PATTERNITY.

Our ‘Water Silks’ were packaged up with new research that highlights how the amount of water needed to produce the clothes in UK wardrobes is the equivalent to draining the Thames fifteen times over. That’s over 634,510 litres – or 8 years of drinking water – per person.

As well as sharing the story and scarves with media and influencers, a limited run of ‘Water Silks’ was made available to consumers via the PATTERNITY online shop. Proceeds will go towards the charity Choose Earth. We also made the splash we wanted to get the message across, securing coverage and beautiful imagery in the iNews, Country and Town House and The Sun.
