Our work with Ministry of Justice and HMPPS took us outdoors this summer as we created the ‘Seeds of Change’ campaign – making seed packs with a difference in a bid to attract outdoorsy individuals into the Probation Service.

Community Payback supervisors work mainly outside with groups of offenders as they pay back to local communities, so to reach others who might want to work outdoors, we took our innovative recruitment campaign to where they already were across community gardens and green spaces. Our seed packs contained a quote from a real-life supervisor, focusing on the benefits of the role – being outdoors, working as a team and helping a community project. The campaign really blossomed, securing coverage including Daily Mirror, Yorkshire Post, BBC Radio Kent and BBC Radio Leeds.
