Did you know that 95% of native oyster reefs have vanished over the last century and 92% of the UK’s seagrass has been lost? Seabeds have been degraded and as a result, wildlife in our shallow waters is deleted.

It’s not all doom and gloom though don’t worry! There is a solution: seagrass and native oyster restoration. This is critical for bringing back wildlife in its abundance to the UK’s shorelines.

To help tackle this problem, Kindred LCMJ has worked with Talisker to launch their three-year partnership with the pioneering NGO, Seawilding.

Talisker’s £600,000 investment in Seawilding will support pioneering seagrass and native oyster projects in Loch Harport, Talisker’s home on the Isle of Skye, and Loch Craignish. It will help bring vital marine life and biodiversity back to these waters over the next decade and beyond, helping protect them for future generations.
