Combating loneliness in later life is a cause close to Rebecca’s heart. After her grandmother passed away, her grandad – a WWII veteran – was living on his own, hundreds of miles away and she realised how isolated older people can be in today’s society. Ever since she has volunteered with charities such as the Royal British Legion to bring companionship to other older people, in her grandparents’ memory.
