Technical education opens doors

January 2025

There are loads of great technical qualification options for young people today, but their parents just don’t know enough about them. The Talking Futures campaign (for The Gatsby Charitable Foundation) seeks to raise awareness and improve understanding of technical education options – like T-levels, apprenticeships and Higher Technical Qualifications – among parents, and to encourage them to have conversations with their children so they can better support them to make informed choices about their futures.

We’ve just launched the latest iteration of the campaign – ‘Technical Education Opens Doors’. Our fully integrated campaign is running on video-on-demand platforms including ITVX, All4, Sky and Disney+, YouTube, Spotify and other digital audio channels, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, on bus sides and on OOH poster sites across the country, showing how technical qualifications can equip young people with the skills, experience and knowledge needed for the workplace. Earned media coverage in the likes of the Sun, Mirror and BBC London featured our spokesperson, Tim Campbell MBE, an advocate for technical education, as well as new research revealing that 41% of parents worry their teenagers are unprepared for the future.
